  2. Ha ha. But I’d have liked to see Anne Rice’s ‘Interview with a Vampire’ instead.

  4. What about the Japanese version of ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ – The Angry Raisins – that would make a great cake!

  6. I think the iconic David Pelham cover for ‘A Clockwork Orange’ would translate rather well via the media of marzipan, icing and food colouring. Or anything by Murakami – the minimalist red white & black themes might work nicely. Now I’m getting hungry just thinking about it…

  8. I’d like to see a version of “And then there were None” by Agatha Christie.

  10. ‘Catcher in the Rye’ – it could just be a plain white iced cake to denote the empty lake, cos all the ducks disappear in the winter ;-D

  14. Love it! Plus it’s made me a bit hungry … All I can think of are book covers with faces on them! (What does that say about me I wonder?) I’m sure there are a few Irvine Welsh books which would look quite tasty. Let’s hope Jane Asher is reading!

  16. Claire, interesting choice … Is that because Tom Cruise is on the cover?

  18. No way! I take my 1980s movies very seriously and was way more Breakfast Club than Cocktail. And really Interview with A Vampire should never have cast Cruise. I just think there’s this big fuss about Twilight and it’s just girl meets vampire pap. You’d be better off paying homage (by cake) to Anne Rice who did this stuff first – Rice Krispie cakes, perhaps…

  22. I’ve gotten as far as:

    Oryx and Cake
    The Cake’s Progress
    The Crepes of Wrath
    The Tart of War
    War and Piece of Cake
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Scone
    The 39 Crepes

  24. The Devil’s Food Cake Wears Prada
The Amazing Adventures of Konditor and Cook (that’s pretty good if I do say so myself)
    Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Tart
    And so on
