Ask a Question
Back to Question and AnswersHave you thought about writing more than one book?
Are you writing a series of books with the same set of characters, or do you intend to write more books in the same genre after killing off previously used characters?.
My intention has always been to write a series of books using existing characters.

Although I haven't yet finished editing my first draft of book one in my series, I do know how I want to continue the story, and as such I have written the arc for the second book.
1I have written the opening 3 chapters of book two, however, I have resumed editing the first.
I have another project which a completely different set up, and is my attempt at writing adult fiction which currently stands just short of 20000 words, so there is a long way to go with that one.

Even though I haven't written anything yet, I do have a second book in mind. I will be starting it the moment the first one is finished.

Hi ASG.
1At the back of first book, you could add a few pages of book two.
You have a head start on me for your second book. Due to a high word count, I have cut and saved 37,000 words from book one. It is probably more drivel than usable stuff. But there are ideas buried there. I hope to use at least 10,000 of those words at the start of book two.
Having the start to book two will save you much mental masturbation. You have something to look forward after you have edited book one.
Keep editing, and good luck.

I thought you were talking about writing two books at the same time, Adrian.
