Has anyone any experience of the Brit Writers Awards and the services they offer? I sent the first 3 chapters of a novel of mine to them and they advised it is good but would benefit from a consultation to make it more presentable to agents/publishers. I'd like to do this but wondered if anyone has any advice on what to do? Thanks in advance

I have heard their name before.
2Harry Bingham (who offers critique services but which I can't comment on because I haven't used them, but I've seen his books in my local library) has written about them recently:

In 2011 there was a ruckus much of which is covered by the AW thread about Brit Writers (From post 14 onward):

I think you can probably find better services out there.

hm, how much would the consultation cost you?

It would cost £200 but I have decided not to go with it at this time. I looked at the links above and alarm bells started ringing

Wise. There are so many people waiting to make money from would be writers, some very reputable and worth the money, some not.. I had mine read by a well known literary agency and found the advice invaluable. It was very detailed and although at the time I felt it was too harsh, in time I realized it was right. My mistake was sending my work in too soon. When I re-read it, I cringed with embarrassment,
