Event Opportunity for Low-Income Writers

Literary agent Thérèse Coen to select the best pitch for a winning place at the conference...

We’re thrilled to be working with Arts University Bournemouth to bring a day of brilliant writing advice and tips on how to get published. The day will feature a writing workshop of your choice led by an incredible line up of authors; Natasha Pulley on fiction, Nell Andrews on non-fiction, and Kayo Chingonyi on poetry. The afternoon sessions will be packed full of brilliant advice from publishing industry experts such as Publishing Director Mark Richards and literary agents Emma Paterson and Thérèse Coen.

We’d love to offer a free place to a low-income writer, and have teamed up with Thérèse Coen, literary agent at Hardman Swainson to run a competition based on perfecting your pitch!

To be in with a chance of winning all you need to do is:

Email writersandartists@bloomsbury.com with the subject line BOURNEMOUTH PITCH telling us how you would benefit from attending the conference and a 3-line pitch of your current work in progress.

Thérèse will then pick her favourite pitch from a shortlist of entries.

Please only enter if you are:

- Unpublished

- Available on 28th April 2018 and able to travel to the event

- From a low-income background

Start date: Monday 22nd January

All entries need to be received by midnight Monday 29th January 2018.

The winner will be chosen by Thérèse and we will inform them within 10 days of the deadline.
