Long story short - In Spring 2017 my 2yr old daughter gets cancer. My partner and I enrich her imagination throughout treatment to keep her spirits up.
Much of the silliness we concocted forms the basis for a picture book that I set to work on and, after 3 years, have now completed.
The book is designed to appeal to all kids, but to have extra meaning to kids in hospital (and their parents) giving them a little bit extra courage and hope.
If I have to self publish, I will. But I first want to try and get an agent, publisher, yadda, yadda.
I am currently writing my first non-fiction book and have recently acquired a non-fiction writing qualification for the Manchester Writer's Bureau.
I am working from 30 years of journals and knowledge gained over 30 years of interest in Israel and Palestine. My book covers the period from British Mandatory rule to today.Â
After an absence of several years (due to a variety of causes, including having my e-mail account hacked - leading to TWO laptops being put out of commission; also a long trough in my bi[polarity ]cycle), I've returned to work... as a writer, an editor, a translator, and a publisher. My "publishing hut" is currently undergoing a complete make-over. It's "breaking and entering" into the digital market.
So here I am, back on W&As, as well. I'm keeping busy (there's lots of work in converting past titles into digital format), but I'll try to look in here now and then.
Hiya all. Does anyone know if Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream publishers for children's books is a self publishing house or mainstream. Tried to go into it but can't find out. Thanks
I was wondering what sort of writing space my fellow writers have when they are creating their masterpieces. Â
I spent quite a few years working at a tiny desk in a corner of a very small kitchen but since getting my own apartment a couple of years ago I've set my spare bedroom up as a study. I took a photo a few days ago of the desk area where I write and just wondered if we all have pretty much the same set-up or if there are some radical alternatives out there i.e. floating trays for use in the bath or even anything weirder and more wonderful!

I recently watched a documentary about Dennis Wheatley and was quite surprised to hear that he wrote all of his manuscripts by hand using a pencil.
Being left-handed and finding the physical act of writing by hand quite taxing, I choose to do all my writing on my laptop using Scrivener and wondered how my fellow writers on this site create their work.
My first book was published in 2018. However, the publishers (name withheld) have since disappeared. There website is gone, there have been no recent posts on the usual social media suspects, etc. My book is still being sold under their name on Amazon, however I would like to re-publish with someone else if possible. I've read my contract and as far as I can tell the term of the contract was for two years (renewable by mutual agreement). I was hoping for some advice as to where I stand with approaching agents, etc. Also, how do I get it removed from Amazon.
