The ability to grip your audience from the outset and immerse them in a narrative layered with intrigue, deceit and shocking twists, is quite a skill. How do you write a novel that carries your reader from chapter to chapter and keeps them on the edge of their seat until the very end?

If you’re writing a thriller and looking to add tension and suspense to your novel, this one-off evening masterclass with Cass Green will answer the above and more, and is an unmissable opportunity to learn from the best.

During this process-driven and practical two-hour session, Cass will offer insight into her writing techniques, with hands-on exercises tailored to help hone your plot, create, build and maintain suspense, and utilise writing techniques to help you keep your readers on tenterhooks.

Speaker Profile

Cass Green is the pseudonym of Caroline Green, an award-winning author of fiction for young people. Her first novel, Dark Ride won the RONA Young Adult Book of the Year and the Waverton Good Read Award. Cracks was recommended on Radio 4’s Open Book programme and Hold Your Breath won the Oldham Book Award. She is the Writer in Residence at East Barnet School and teaches Writing for Children at City University. Her debut adult novel The Woman Next Door was a Number 1 e-book bestseller and her second, In A Cottage, In A Wood was a Sunday Times top ten and USA Today bestseller.

Event Details 

The event will be held at Bloomsbury Publishing, 50 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3DP. Doors will open at 6 pm, with drinks provided upon arrival. Drinks will start at 6pm and your workshop with Cass begins at 6.30pm prompt, finishing at 8.30pm.
