How to get non-fiction articles published in business magazines

Please can somebody suggest the best way to learn about getting non-fiction articles and pieces, on the topic of business, printed in business magazines.

(I know "business" is a broad area, but I would niche it down as appropriate.)

Any advice on courses, books, etc, would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Do your homework about any publication you're thinking of approaching, and get a true flavour of what they cover, and how their articles are written. Do they come with footnotes, for example, or links to other articles/books/journals? What's the tone and slant of their coverage and do they fit with the way you write? Make absolutely sure you're covering material that is of interest to them.

Most importantly, check their websites or inside the journals themselves to see if they accept work from non-staffers: some don't. Work on your CV: what expertise are you bringing with your article? What qualifications do you have to speak on the subject chosen? Where business is concerned, you do have to prove your worth and you have to be bang up to date.
    Good luck,

If it's articles you have already written and you're targeting a particular magazine, you might want to see if it has a website. If they have, contact them, let them know what you've written about and ask if they would like to review it for possible publication. That might help you.
