Offer of contract from Publisher Pegasus (Imprint - Vanguard

I have recently received a offer of contract from Pegasus, through their imprint Vanguard. But they want me to pay up front, £2,700 (Instalmets also offered).
Do i accept or not? Please advise.

    If you have to pay a publisher to take your work, which you could self-publish for very little expense, then you will never make your money back. These people are not recommended.

    Hi Dave. I asked the same question about the same publisher several weeks ago and was given the same advice NO! I took the advice and stayed away from them. I understand that if you have to pay any money to a publisher it is vanity/ self publishing. Hope this helps.

    A resounding NO. I can smell a rotten red herring from a can without even opening its lid. I am sure they will try to paint a rosy picture too just to get money from you. Be very aware Dave.

    A big NO! What do they give in return? This is an old post but I doubt much has changed Basically it's vanity publishing
