Backcomb binding

A round plastic spine with loops secured through the holes punched along the binding side of pages.

A website recording the writer's opinions, experiences and observations. They are often used as a creative outlet and promotional tool.

A short piece of writing that promotes a book and can appear on the back or inside cover.

Book fairs

Organised so that publishing companies and others from around the world can attend to negotiate international rights and licensing deals, and companies can showcase their products and research market trends. Some of the largest are held annually in Frankfurt and London.

Book review

It describes and evaluates a recently published book. Could appear in a newspaper or magazine, for example.

Book trailer

A video advertisement for a book. This can involve actors portraying scenes from the book or music and images that convey the story - often in a similar format to a film trailer and usually available online.
