Returns & Cancellation FAQs

How can I cancel all or part of my order?

Please contact us at customerservices@bloomsbury.com or call +44 (0)1256 302699 (National Rates for UK callers, International Rates for overseas callers) between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm GMT, Monday to Friday, to cancel your order in part or in whole.

Provided your merchandise has not been dispatched, we will halt processing of your order and refund your credit card account. Should your merchandise have already left our warehouse, we will provide you with the necessary information for returning the item(s) to us for refund. Please refer to our returns policy in the Terms and conditions for more information.

Instructions for returning items are also included on the dispatch forms accompanying all bloomsbury.com orders.

Can I return an item and, if so, will I have to pay for postage?
We guarantee the quality of all products purchased from our bookshop. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item, in its original condition, within 30 days of dispatch (or 8 working days from receipt of goods) for a refund of the purchase price excluding the postage and packing charge.  If the return is due to an error on our part, we will gladly compensate you for all costs, including the returns postage, within a week of processing the return.

How do I return an item?
If you would like to return an item, please contact our Customer Services Department at customerservices@bloomsbury.com; alternatively, phone us at +44 (0)1256 302699 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm GMT, Monday to Friday. (National rates for UK callers, International Rates for overseas callers)

How long will my return take to be processed?
We endeavour to process returns within one week of receipt. Be sure to include your order number in any correspondence so that we can process your refund as quickly as possible for you.

After your return has been processed, the item quantity and costs, viewable in Your order history (located within Your details), will be adjusted to reflect your refund.


What do I do if I've booked a place at an event and can no longer attend?

If you notify us at least one month (four weeks) before the start date of an event, we can offer you a full refund or exchange. If you are contacting us within one month of the event start date, the ticket price is non-refundable - although you can appoint someone else to attend in your stead.

Please alert us of a name change no less than one week before the event.

Standard VAT rates apply on all tickets purchased for a Writers & Artists event.


How will I receive my refund?
The account of the credit card used for the original purchase will be credited with the purchase price of the book(s) ordered, less postage and packing, unless the return is due to our error in which case postage and packing will also be refunded.

What if I have not received my refund?
If you do not receive credit for your return within four weeks (six weeks for import items), please notify us at customerservices@bloomsbury.com.

Bloomsbury.com is not responsible for lost returns.
