Editing Services: Agony Agent

How it works?

Use our Agony Agent service to get answers to your questions direct from a literary agent or literary consultant about aspects of the writing/publishing process, the marketability of your novel, editing, or how to submit your work.

Overview

Use our Agony Agent service to get answers to your questions direct from a literary agent or literary consultant about aspects of the writing/publishing process, the marketability of your novel, editing, or how to submit your work.

Everywhere you turn, you’re told that you need a literary agent - but, to a writer trying to get published, agents can seem like an elusive breed in an industry that can be difficult to understand.

Agony Agent is a unique service that enables writers to get answers to their questions direct from literary agents or literary consultants, either in the form of a message via our website or by booking a 15-minute call. This means bespoke, constructive criticism from a publishing industry expert at a fair price, and advice that will leave you with a better understanding of how to progress on your publishing journey.

Feedback

"It was easy to use and I get to ask an agent a question about my work and get a response without having to wait months for a reply. Very reassuring and helpful." G Ansell

"Brilliant idea, I love, love, love it! A bit like the ‘how to hook an agent’ event, it helps you see that agents are just people, too. It helps demystify the process and at the same time gives you wonderful, personal advice." K Jennings
