Look back at blog one - a good journey for the Novel and Novelist? Did you enjoy the experience?

NaNoWriMo

This has been a great journey, and one I have felt privileged to share with Writers and Artists. Thank you for that wonderful opportunity! Sometimes one can get stuck on "How To's" and feel not quite ready to actually sit down and write  - especially 50,000 words in such a short period of time!  This proves otherwise.

Now November is over, when do you think you will revisit your Novel again?

I shan't be leaving a huge gap in time.  We're beginning holiday season here but we're not going away to the coast, as often we have in previous years (although there will be a major Golf Challenge for a day or two this week at Sun City, watching the awesome golf stars!). I'm excited to get back to my story and to introduce lots of "What If's" to my plot.

How many words do you see the final version of your manuscript being?

I am not sure of the maximum, but I want to make the minimum 50,000.

Do you have any advice you could pass on to others who are considering entering NaNoWriMo 2014?

Seek as much advice as possible from established writers and those involved in the business.  They really know what they are talking about when giving advice. It will make your NaNoWriMo journey infinitely easier, and the words will flow, as will your plot.

Finally would you do it again?

Absolutely, if not in 2014, as we have overseas family perhaps visiting South Africa next November, then most certainly in a future year.  I believe totally in the experience.  I loved at the end, when you validate your 50,000 words. a video starts with the adorable NaNoWriMo crowd all shouting their congratulations. Writing can be a lonely journey and NaNoWriMo changes that!
