I am looking for some advice on where to start:) I have collaborated with an illiustrator to create a gory picture story book ( think Edward Gorey, Tim Burton). This would we be a book with short stories ( maybe 4 or 5) and the first draft ( first story) is finished. I am not sure which category this would be - would the book appeal to children or adults and what exact genre that would be. So I am looking for any advice how to start and where to start looking ( do we approach agents etc...) Any help would be much appreciated.
After an absence of several years (due to a variety of causes, including having my e-mail account hacked - leading to TWO laptops being put out of commission; also a long trough in my bi[polarity ]cycle), I've returned to work... as a writer, an editor, a translator, and a publisher. My "publishing hut" is currently undergoing a complete make-over. It's "breaking and entering" into the digital market.
So here I am, back on W&As, as well. I'm keeping busy (there's lots of work in converting past titles into digital format), but I'll try to look in here now and then.
I'm the first to admit that I never do New Year resolutions. It's not that I lack willpower; I just think life can be tricky enough without me adding even more expectations. 2023 is the year I take it easy on myself.
I want to focus on only the things that I can control. The words. So my writing resolution for 2023 is to write about the things that interest me most. No following trends. Just writing from the heart and enjoying it. Because if I'm not enjoying it then it's likely no one else will!
