Mark Kirkbride is the author of two genre novels and a novella. His novel Game Changers of the Apocalypse was a semi-finalist in the Kindle Book Awards 2019. His work has been published in national newspapers and in magazines and journals. His poetry has been longlisted in international poetry competitions, and shortlisted in the AONB Landscape category of the Ginkgo Prize.
Mark has a BA in English from Kingston University, an M.Litt. in English from the University of Oxford and has completed a creative writing PhD at Brunel University of London. He has worked as an Arts and Literature tutor at Royal Holloway, University of London, and currently lectures in creative writing at Middlesex University. He has supervised and provided developmental feedback for numerous academic projects and assessments.
His academic work has appeared in Religion in Fantasy and Science Fiction published by Academia Lunare, in Inspire – Exciting Ways of Teaching Creative Writing published by Goldsmiths, University of London, and on Gothic Nature Journal's blog.
