Editorial
A process that involves the text or contents of a book being prepared for publication by correcting, adapting or revising it.
Evaluation edit
Looking at plot, characters, tone and chances of publication.
Line editing
Editing sentence flow, looking out for repetitions and improving overall clarity and tone.
Out of print or o.p.
Relating to a book of which the publisher has no copies left an which is not going to be reprinted. Print-on-demand technology, however, means that a book can be kept 'in print' indefinitely.
Proof reader
Someone employed to carry out proofreading.
