Prelims
Introductory pages which precede the main text itself, including a title page, copyright page, preface or foreword.
Print-on-demand (POD)
The facility to print and bind books at short notice without the need for a large print run, using digital technology. When an order comes through, a digital file of the book can be printed automatically and individually.
Printing
The act of text being transferred onto the page in full colour or black and white, normally using digital technology.
Reprint
Printing more copies of a book, which are identical to the original but have details of the date of the reprinting. They can also have a new title page and cover design.
RGB
RGB (Red, Green and Blue) is the colour space for digital images. The RGB colour mode is normally used for a design if it is going to be displayed on any kind of screen.
