Hi everyone,
I have only wrote three chapters and a prolouge so far, but I have already reached 20,000 words. Am I doing something right here or am I not ment to be at that word count at this particular stage of my writing?

Bernard Cornwell's 'The Pagan Lord' - 300 pages (approx. 90k?) and only 13 chapters. I'd get 30 chapters in that number of pages.
I don't think it matters - readability is the main thing. If your MS works fine with longer chapters then keep it that way :)
:)
I'm told I include too much material (see my shared work) but I also agree with the fellow students above. Write freely in your first draft but be happy to cut later. To cut think of the reader, not the writer. What do you think the reader wants?
