Will the winner and runners up of the competition be informed prior to the event on March 26th or do they only find out on the night? If they aren't informed then what happens if the winner isn't at the event? Do they lose their prize? Do you only stand a chance of winning if you have bought a ticket for the event? Will a short list be published on here before the event takes place?

We'll be writing to inform those who have been placed on the shortlist but the winner and runners-up won't be announced until the event on 26th March. It doesn't matter if the winner is unable to attend the event (although it'd be great if they could!) - the event is designed for those who attend to enjoy readings from the work of exciting new literary talent.
