I am trying to find alternatives to the phrase "I hoped" in the following
"I hoped that I hadn’t dropped him in it. I hoped he didn’t think I had betrayed him. I hope he didn’t hate me for letting our secret out".
I can't seem to find any alternatives online.
Sometimes when you're stuck, you may have consider revising the entire sentence.
My plan was not to drop in on him. My desire was not to betray him. I have faith that he doesn't hate me for letting our secret out.
