Anyone else do this?

I find when I'm writing I can't stick to writing one story at a time. I tend to write numerous different stories mostly with different genres at one time. Luckily I don't confuse them but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so if there is a way to keep to writing one story at a time? Thank you :)

Thank you all :) glad other people find they write more than one at one time. From the time I wrote this question I've started yet another aha but I love writing so will hopefully finish all of them eventually :) Thank you all for the advice it really is appreciated :)

I have done this exact same thing since I started writing and I understand what thoughts are going through your mind. My partner posed a question to me about some of my unfinished work. What happens to all the time and effort that you put into a story that you won't finish ever; and I can understand what point she is trying to make. But on the flip side of this, is a writer has to write and if a story starts but then fizzles out then put it to one side and return to it in the future. But I think most writers have several stories swimming around in their minds and that's how some books become a trilogy. So don't stop, don't worry, and don't let it get on top of you, what will be, will be and if it's working then it doesn't need fixing. Keep up with the good work Victoria.

I have the same problem; I can't help but start another story even if I've just started the last. I find it's because I can't stand the thought to have free time. I tend to just sit around doing nothing if I have free time and it annoys me immensely. I'm actually doing 21 stories at one time and like you I don't confuse them. But if you want to stop try to see what makes you want to start a new one and try to make is so that can't be possible anymore. My way to stop starting anymore is to make it so I have no time left by the time I've finished leaving me with no possibility to start a new one.
