Hi - A little tongue-in-cheek maybe...but, I've finished my first novel and going through the rejection phase! If only I could speak to an agent I could die happy! What does one have to do to meet an agent face-to-face in the NORTH?

The York literary festival has large numbers of agents, editors and publishers. If you book early you can have 1 or 2, I think, actually have a look at your work and you have a small time slot to pitch your novel to them.
You can check the agents listings in the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook. I doubt an agent will meet you face-to-face unless you corner one at a literary fair. But this site does provide a service for a fee on How to Hook an Agent. Details below.
How to Hook an Agent. This intimate half-day event with four literary agents offers a networking lunch, a chance to go speed-dating with the agents and one-to-one feedback on your book pitch.
If your interested I would check if there are similar events outside London.
I hope that helps.
Good luck.
