I have been offered a contract with Austin !Macauley to produce a book and market it - I am inexperienced in this area and have read that whilst the company produces the book, the quality is not great - they do not have a good reputation. Can anyone offer advice about this as it could be a way of getting a book out - there is a contribution but there would be if I self published anyway and they do offer an illustrator?
Many thanks
Lynn
don't touch them with a bargepole. They will take your money and give you no help at all. They are only interested by your money. They only get work because some people are so desperate to get their book published that they are conned into thinking that any publisher is better than no publisher.
The difference between a good self publishing firm and this lot is that you retain all the rights to your book.
All new authors are inexperienced in this area. I self published my book and I am the publisher.
You can also publish with no cost to yourself through Amazon, though they do keep most of the sales income.
