Blurbs and Creative Control

How much creative control do writers have over the blurbs of their books?

If you're a Big 5 author I suspect not a lot. I'm not one of that fortunate band so can only speak of my experience with a small publisher.

I had a blurb prepared for my second story which the publisher liked but edited to fit the space on the back cover. I suggested changes which gave it more impact, within a tight word count, and they decided to go with that. Probably neither of us were completely happy but I guess that's the way it goes :)
