Character Names?

How does everyone come up with their character's names? Frankly mine, just sort of come to me randomly and if they sort of feel right for the character, I choose them. It would be interesting to know how the others do it.

Quite frankly I don't know how I come up with my names, they just write themselves for instance when I was writing A Book Of Observation (my novel) Kasey Laurence, Gulliver Long and the rest of the characters seemed to shape themselves.

It depends. Often I'll use a name which is closely related to what the character does. For example, the baker in my novel is called Mr Aga.

For other characters, a name just jumps out at me, such as Hendrick Baggle seemingly for no apparent reason what so ever

The first name I had for Jacob Jones was Miss Higgybottom.. Jacob was the easiest one as Jacob Is the son of Isaak and Isaak is my last name. Chadwick the cat I found in a letter. Malakiah in the bottom of my coffee cup.
