Hi All
Just entered my first writing competition in 7 years after various health issues and life events conspired to take away the spark.
Regardless of the outcome it felt good to apply myself to regular and consistent periods of writing and although I only had to write the first chapter and synopsis for the competition I actually completed a whole novel!
Thanks also go out to Richard Elder, Victoria Whithear and Jonathan Hopkins for their wise words which proved invaluable in getting my synopsis done.
There are so many benefits to writing and seeing the words one puts on the page coming to life in front of you - it's truly life-affirming.
So whenever life conspires to remove that creative spark, my advice (for what it's worth!) is to put some words down and see where it leads. With any luck it may lead the way back to the door of creative opportunities.
Thanks
Mark
Yep, and if the Competition gods don't smile kindly on me, at least I have a completed book ready to hock around. Thanks again for your help Jonathan.
Well done, Mark - your persistence paid off!
