Do you research your novel?

If I have to do any research, I do it from he comfort of an armchair.

My research is reading as many books as I can about my genre. The bulk of my chivalric novel is a product of my imagination.

I do the same. I read as many books as I can that are in my genre. I also spend a lot of time reading famous authors and biographies to see what used to inspire them and how they operate. I often do research on things like map making, weapon use and word origins when I write my Trilogy.

It must be synchronicity to have your post just above Victoria,I am working on a short story at the moment which starts in Russell Square! Not a very happy one,I am afraid;its about a child snatching. And yes, some of my research is armchair based,in book form or online.I also find a lot of it comes from People watching, especially if I want to describe my surroundings and strangers going about their day.
