Do you use semi-colons?

There has been a good discussion about the use of commas. Do many of you use semi-colons. I don't. I rarely see semi-colons in the contemporary novels that I read. I keep my sentences as short as possible. I find that short sentences add to the pace of dramatic situations. Besides, I try not to force my sentences to do to much.

I'm with Renee and Christine. I use a lot of semi-colons; probably too many. :D

I use semi-colons when a full stop feels too abrupt and a comma not quite enough. I have no idea if that's right though. Probably not, but it's what I've been doing.

Mind you, I haven't had anything published. Not that the two things are related...!
