Does anyone here use online editing websites? I've been looking at prowritingaid.com and autocrit.com. A friend swears by them but I'm sceptical that a computer programme could actually help.
Thanks!

Can a programme like those mentioned explain why they say you must change things? Do they actually teach you anything? Not convinced. I think I'll go on editing the human way. At least you'll know I've actually thought about the writer as well as the words.
Dear Mr. Dodgson,
In your CV, you state that you are a Mathematics lecturer. We advise you to stick to your daytime job.

Thanks for the tip. I will check those out. But are there really no humans behind those web-sites?
What in the world would a machine make of:
"There was an old coddle so molly,
He talked in a glot that was poly,
His gaws were so gew
That his laps became dew,
And he ate only pops that were lolly.”

"Dear Mr. Thurber,
You obviously have no grasp of the English language and we advise you to find some occupation - such as digging ditches - where a high level of intelligence is unnecessary.
Yours mechanically,
