Finding an illustrator / Sharing work here

Hi all. I'm totally new to writing so please excuse my ignorance.

I've got 2 questions for you:

I'm currently writing children's books which I intend to self-publish, most likely as ebooks (I'm not brave enough to consider submitting to real publishers yet!). I've completed 3 so far and all are about 1000 words long.

1) I think the books would benefit from lots of pictures (maybe 10 per book, plus the covers). Any advice as to the best way to find a good illustrator?

2) I'm considering sharing the texts on this site for your feedback but before I do, I just wondered if anyone has had bad experiences from this such as having their ideas stolen (I'm not concerned about hurt feelings from harsh comments!)?

Many thanks and looking forward to your responses.

Ben

Hey Ben Welcome to the site and congrats for completing 3 books already,

you can find some illustrators in here too, One name I know is Chris wharton, He joins the site a month or so ago and searching for Writers. Go to the search bar and search his name, contact him or others you find. You may want to have a look at his site http://chriswharton.com/Pages/portfolio.html. I am not his agent or any thing, just knew the answer and wanted to help twp people at once.

About second question, I don't know, Although people share their work here all the time, but still I would recommend you to post just one of your work, if you are not sure.

I hope it helps.
