Hi,
I'm not sure how these things work - forums and the like - or what the etiquette is. I have posted an extract from a long on worked novel. I guess I'm looking for criticism and really to ask, would you want to know what happens next?
It feels strange to put ones words out into a public forum, but I guess that is what one must do.
Thanks you for your time.

Hi Alex. You just need to wait for someone to take a look at your extract. As far as I know, you will receive automated emails telling you whenever someone has posted a reply (including one for this very message I am writing to you now).
I found it is useful to include your critique questions at the top or end of the extract itself. You asked "Would you want to know what happens next?" here, but anyone who reads your extract post only won't know that (the question itself is a bit bland and overused by writers, and seeing that it is your final draft, as you say, you should ask something more specific, ideally about something that you have been having problems with.) I am quite sure there is the option to edit your post, which will not affect its appearance or order in the forum.
Other than that, there's not much else to do but wait. Some of the longer extracts sit around for a while only and receive only one or two responses whereas, and understandably, the shorter ones often receive numerous replies rather quickly.
