Good places to write?

by Robbie Stratford

So I have finished my first chapter, read it back and edited it. It sound's great and I'm really pleased but it took me longer than I thought because I couldn't find a really good place to just get on with it.

What works best for you guys? Do you write in a cafe? in the night? In the day? Whilst your drunk? lol

Let me know.

Cheers!

Tough one. Somewhere quiet is good if you're trying to write a scene that needs concentration - I wrote a character almost drowning on Saturday I'd been avoiding for ages, and got it done when no-one else was in the house. Apart from the dog.

I wrote a battle scene by the side of an hotel pool once, because I really got into the thick of the action and could ignore everything else going around me.

Then the laptop battery went so I was forced to retire to the bar ;)

I sit in an armchair with my laptop. I drink too many cups of black coffee with sugar. Many cups go cold as I write or edit. I either play some classical music, or write in silence.
