Has this happened to anyone else?

I was about to email my competition entry this afternoon, when I realised that what I’ve written is a bit rubbish and now I’m too busy until the deadline to try something different! Best of luck to everyone. It’ll be interesting to read the winning entries :-)

Good luck, Linda!

Paul, I forget things too, just from switching between projects in a random manner rather than sticking to just one thing! I agree it’s good to be self-critical and I feel that although my short story for the comp didn’t work out the attempt was worth it, as I’ve learned a lot about my approach to writing :-)

Hi Felicity, yep me too, but I have to say that I have one thing going for me and before you think this is self praise it aint! I have a memory problem and quickly forget what I have written so if I think it's a good piece then re-read it I forget how bad it is after a while. OK maybe I don't forget that quickly but I genuinely do have that draw back. I think though, the more you read over it the more critical you become of your own work which is probably a good thing complacency will get you know where, if you see what I mean. Regards Paul
