Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
I was wondering if I could get some help and advice. Three years ago, I've finished my debut novel (a YA fantasy), and since then I've been trying to query with agents, but without any luck. In this time, I got rejected by 27 agents. With every rejection, I would try to fix something on my novel to try and make it better, as well as my cover letter. I actually rewrote a lot of stuff, but still nothing. I even got help from some beta readers. I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong, but I have no clue. Am I approaching agents the wrong way? Or maybe the problem is in the novel itself? Just so you have an idea, this is the first chapter of my novel:

I already started writing something new to see if I have better luck, but I still wish I could query this one, so if someone could give me some light, it would really be appreciated.
