Did you steam in Medias Res on the first page, or start somewhere in the middle? Perhaps you started at the end and worked backwards.

In my opinion you should start right before the ending, and then constructing the story and THEN (when the story is over) tell the end. I it's interesting to read like that! :) good luck.
