Hi
Sorry for the title, but I didn't had any idea for it and I'm a teen so I thought it was appropriate for the moment 'cuz you know... sorry, easily distracted...
So two or three weeks ago I've made a question about managers vs agents and although I've only had 1 answer it was very helpful.
But now I need help again.
I was thinking if you could help me to know where could I find a manager here in UK, because when I searched on the internet for managers it only appears agents.
Thank you in advance if you help me! :D
But I don't think these can be UK blogs because writers really, really don't use managers here. Not instead of agents anyway.
What you're talking about sounds like publicity. Traditionally this was done by the publishers. To some extent it still is but there is increasing emphasis on a writer's own PR machine (blogs, FB, tweeting etc). I suppose you could hire someone to do that for you - and I know of very successful writers who do - but you would have to pay, which isn't what you want to do when you're starting out.
Some blogs say that a manager is better than an agent because it gives you a better perspective of your book selling and your 'name' is kind of recognized!
I'm afraid you can't find out anything about managers because that's not how the system in the UK works. Here, if writers are represented by anyone, they are represented by an agent. What is it you think a manager does that an agent doesn't do?
