Read as much as you can about the genre of your novel. That will inspire you to write.

Reading poetry helps. Read a poem each day.

Sol Stein, has an unusual tip. He says open a dictionary on any page and study the meaning of words.

Don't over-think it, or let it overwhelm you. Start out with half an hour a day - it's not much. Build up from there. Getting into the habit can be harder than getting the words down, sometimes.

If you're writing a novel, it can be fun to take a break and write a short story, too. Clears out the cobwebs, so to speak.

You could do worse than following this advice

But as always the only way to start writing is to start writing.
