How much allure does a book title have for you?

In the blogs section there is a shortlist of finalists in the Flash-Fiction competition.

Three of the titles intrigued me. If you could only see the title of a novel, would that alone grab your attention?

I think I get drawn in by the title and cover, then read the blurb :D

I've been known to buy a book by title alone ('How To Be A Good Wife' by Emma Chapman was my last - brilliant book!)

Also buy on cover alone, without reading blurb, or checking quality of writing.

I realise that's a bit terrible.

For me it's always the blurb. The cover has to lure me in first of all but if the blurb turns me off and I look at the first few lines and don't want to read on, it could be called 'Read this and receive a million quid' and I probably wouldn't.

I would say a really bad title might stop me picking the book up, but a good title wouldn't help if the cover sucks.
