How secure is your work?

Do you have your work backed up.

At the end of each week I copy my work onto 3 memory sticks.

At the end of each month I burn my work onto a Cd.

At about every six months, I register my latest updates with the UK Copyright Service and the US Copyright Office.

Isn't that how JK Rowling became unemployed? Not that that's a problem for her now, of course. I hope you have a million pound book deal lined up just in case your boss spots you outside of your lunch break on Writers and Artists. (I'm allowed to be here, because I'm not being paid by anyone else today!)

Jonathan, it is one the best places to write (or at least to think about one's writing). It isn't hard to open up a blank email or text file during those brief gaps in work or at lunchtime. A few minutes here and there adds up over the course of the day. That being said, there are periods when I can't do it at all.

If you think about it though, many people dip in and out of news articles and other such websites not related to their work while at their office computer. Why not turn that time into writing? :)
