If you get the online version of WAYB, you can use the search function, e.g. agent, children's books to narrow down results that are more likely to be useful.
Get a copy of the current Writers and Artists Yearbook. Look up the list of agents, look at their websites and find out which ones represent work similar to what you have written. Some, for instance, only represent non-fiction writers.
Then you will need a really well written cover letter and a good synopsis - in addition to whatever work they may ask for - eg, the first 10,000 words - first three chapters, etc.
A writer called Nicola Morgan has written two very good books on cover letters and synopses - well worth buying. Some agents have been known to reject a writer just on the cover letter letter alone!
