I'm lost.

Hi everyone, I know it's been a while since i came on here last but I'm feeling kind of lost. Ive never been a confident writer and had to overcome various writing barriers to get where I am now with my book, but it also feels like I'm never going to get there.

I finished my first draft of my book 3 years ago, but with a job and children i find it hard to get concentrated time just to write and edit. The problem i have is that I have no one to read it and help me to see the errors. Can anyone suggest a website where i can buddy up with someone who could help me and in return I would try and help them?

I'm just finding it hard when people continue to say a good first draft. Maybe it is time to give in.

Firstly welcome back.

Remember the more you show people your work the more changes will be suggested. You

have to get your manuscript to where you want it first, once you're happy with that the only changes you should make then are the ones suggested by your agent.

I did a simple exercise on this website last year. I posted a piece of work and asked for peoples opinion. The response was interesting. Words overused, no chance of selling to an agent was just some of them. I then announced it was a piece published 88 years ago. It happened to be a snippet from the lion the witch and wardrobe. So remember whatever you write someone claims they can do better.

My suggestion stick the children on eBay one problem solved lol get back to it you know you can do it you come this far. Stick some chapters on here see what people say. I always say advise whether good or bad is always good advice.

Good luck and Chin up ;)
