I've written my first novel, goodness knows how long it has taken. I now need some help to check dialogue, grammar, layout, pace, you name it I need it. Where do I start? Stuart

Hello Stuart, i am probably six months behind you in terms of completion. I would be interested to know how you progressed.

Congrats on writing your first novel Stuart!

In terms of the basics, I always recommend going through a good ol' Spelling & Grammar check on Microsoft Word. It's free and something you can do yourself to ensure no typos have slipped in.

If you're looking for more professional help, I'd recommend checking out our Editing Services, in particular the 'Full Manuscript Review' where one of our experienced editors will give you an honest appraisal of your novel, covering dialogue, character, setting, plot etc.

If this is something that doesn't feel right for you just yet, I'd recommend researching local writing groups in your area as many writing groups often share work with each other to receive feedback for free. There are also lots of great online writing communities too, but it's worth doing some research into this.
