To Kindle or not to Kindle?

I have to admit I really enjoy my Kindle as it is light, fits in my handbag and I can purchase a new book and have it deliered remotely without having to go to the shops (quite an advantage when you're anti social, like me). However, I do miss be able to share 'books' with friends and family like I used to when I bought them in hard copy. The idea of picking up a hard copy of a novel now just doesn't appeal to me. So, what I'm asking is, do you prefer the hard copies of books or the Kindle?

I might succumb to kindle, but not for the forseeable future. It has nothing to do with money. I can afford to buy a kindle and any book I choose.

I am fortunate to have two charity shops near me. A Sue Ryder and a Sense shop which I prefer to give my money to. I buy books and classical Cd's at bargain prices. 50p - £2.50 for a book, and £1.50 for a Cd.

When I have finished with my books, I pass them onto my nieces, friends, or I donate them back to the charity shops.

At home I much prefer books but if I was someone who went on foreign holidays I'm quite sure I would prefer extra luggage allowance to paper. As it is I only go to northern Tenerife and there is a really great English library there.

Paper every time.

My wife loves her Kindle, though :)
