p.s. Now that I'm at it, a trifling detail: Would it be possible to decapitalise the i in my user name? My name isn't Jimmy Hollis I Dickson: it's Jimmy Hollis i Dickson The i is not an initial, it means "and" in Catalan and separates father's [1st] surname and mother's [1st] surname, a non-sexist habit which I adopted when I arrived in Catalunya [Catalonia].

And Adrian; still MORE trifling: Does that "20,000 points" in your comment here derive from my comment at https://www.writersandartists.co.uk/question/view/2208 ?
"I personally am on a campaign to push Lorraine Swoboda's points up to 20,000. She gives good advice all over the shop.
And Kate Baxter is often good for a laugh... and deserved points for brightening my day."
Sorry, Admin, but I have to add my criticism to your points system. You say that we can only score points for one activity per day. I would HOPE that the highest-scoring activity is counted rather than the first completed.
In theory, a "thumbs up" from somebody else wins us 5 points. However, Adrian points out that - at present - this doesn't seem to be happening. And if it IS/WERE, I have a further question:
If 20 people are moved to click on a particularly brilliant reply [one which 20 people not only find VERY useful / funny / well-worded, but also THINK to click on the thumbs up sign (which most people DON'T)] on the same day, does this mean that that brilliant reply gets only 5 points [one score per day], whereas if those 20 enthusiasts were to take almost 3 weeks to "thumbs up" at the slow rate one one enthusiast per day, that same reply would earn 100 points?
If this is so, don't you find it a trifle - no, let's not mince words here: INCREDIBLY - unfair??? (Could this be why the points for "thumbing up" are currently not being awarded at all? In which case: even MORE unfair!!! Whoever poses a question - which could have been posed a dozen times before by others - gets 15 points. Whoever is helpful enough to take the time and thought to type out a really good piece of advice... gets NO points???)
I can imagine that the once-per-day rule was introduced to discourage people from flooding the "switchboard" with unnecessary waffle. But those of us who do so are going to continue to do so whether it scores us points or not. On the other hand, there are people - and I cite once again Lorraine Swoboda - who are REALLY helpful to new (AND level 4) users of this site, giving thoughtful comments and advice several times a day. And I personally believe that they should be rewarded for their efforts.
Hi all,
We're aware of the problem with the rewards system and we're working on fixing it as soon as possible. Thanks for notifying us.
Jimmy, the usernames are imputed by the users so we can't control whether it's an 'I' or an 'i'.
Best wishes,
The W&A team
