I am self-publishing a series of short, but deep, illustrated stories under the heading: 'A quick dip into deep thinking' on amazon Kindle. The stories are for young and old to inspire people and make them think a little deeper (they are humorous but profound) - and link into philosophy, psychology, Body/Mind/Spirit but also everyday life. The first one, for example, has got the title 'The growing of dreams' - which is something we can all connect with.
I have 14 working titles and have published the first two so far (I am also in the process of translating them into various languages) and am just about to get the third one published online.
I am really lost when it comes to the marketing and where to best take them. What publishers could I approach to get them printed? How do I best market them. Where do I find my target audience? Are there any agents you could recommend? What is your advice?
Any help, ideas, advice, suggestions would be so much appreciated. Thank you.
Subscribe to the W&A Listings (see top of the page here) for £20 - it lists all the publishers and so forth and is searchable by genre.
You need an agent who represents the kind of writing that you do, so you have to check out their websites before submitting to anyone.
Look on Amazon (or in bookshops) for the same kind of book that you write, and see who publishes them. Are there magazines that deal in this kind of subject? They may have advertisements that are of interest, or you could pay for your own there.
Get yourself a website in which you can expound upon your ideas, as well as advertise your books - or a blog, if that's a step too far; if you put in the right searchable tags, people will find you. Check out FB for groups that seem to fit your subject, and see what other people there do. At the least you'll be in contact with like-minded people who may be interested in your books.
Good luck!
