I don't listen to any bands really. The occasional bit of Michael Jackson maybe, or Adele. I might hear something on the radio I like. But my favourite kind of music comes from films. Does anyone else ever listen to music from films and come with their own characters and scenario's to go with it?
As I read this during a 2 minute break from a competition entry I'm drafting, I am listening to the soundtrack from Sense and Sensibility. I find it hugely helpful - no words to distract, and just the wonderful mood it creates. My entry is also historical and set in the 1700s, so it's doubly relevant. I listen to film music more than actual songs - I completely agree, it's so helpful for writing.
