Nonsense Writing

Hi, everyone. In this opportunity I want to know what's your opinion about nonsense writing, writing a nonsense story and if you know any writer that work the gender recommended me. I know about Lewis Carroll with his masterpiece Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (I'm a huge fan of Lewis Carroll and Alice), Edward Lear with his ‘Book of Nonsense’ and Ramón Gómez de la Serna with his Greguerías (Spanish author). So, I want to know what do you think about and if you've got any piece of advice that you might give me about how to write a nonsense story.

Replies

I knew wasn't the only one who enjoy it. Well, no, I haven't. Actually, it's the first time I hear about them but as people says, ‘Everyday you learn something new’. However, they sound interesting. Er – with respect the advice, I think you're right. Basically, nonsense is about ridiculousness and humour sense.

Love nonsense! Advice would be, refine your sense of the ridiculous. Have you come across Mervyn Peake's Book of Nonsense? He wrote the magnificent gothic fantasy, the Gormenghast trilogy, but is also a mine of deep, sweet, silliness..
