Pirated

Anyone had a problem with their work being pirated? It happened to me with one of my books (which is free) that someone downloaded onto a hosting website where they proceeded to sell it! I got the site manager to ban the person. Now a fellow-author and friend has found one of her books on Amazon! It too was free but is being sold for $6.99! She is in the throes of having it removed by Amazon. The culprit goes unpunished...

That's really annoying Suzy. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you managed to sorted it out.

Something for us all to be wary of.

That's disgusting.

Problem is that unless there's any proof the perpetrator(s) earned money from their actions I doubt anyone will be prosecuted, which is what really needs to happen. Their accounts may be closed but they'll just pop up somewhere else.

I know it won't be any consolation but it's a compliment to your work, back-handed though it may be :)
