Hello,
I have recently been asked to do some very personal writing for a company intending to publish what I write. I have decided to use a pseudonym to write this work under, even though I intend to keep all my fiction work I do under my real name.
Is there anything I need to do legally in order to use my pseudonym? How far do I go in doing this? Do I need to create and use a separate email address?
Any help here is most welcome.
Kay.
Thank you for answering way back when Dean. I recently discovered that the other people who would want to know both your pseudonym and your pen name are the trade union SOA (Society of Authors), for those writers who are members.
I don't know if this information is of any use to you... I found it useful, so thought I'd pass this on.
Have now completed that commission with very little hassle on the pseudonym front. Thank you again for your response. :-)
As long as the publisher knows your real name there is nothing legal which needs to be done. I use a pen name but only because my real surname is often pronuonced wrong. There are many reasons for using a pseudonym none of which have legal issues that I know of except, obviously, to use one that has alrady been used.
Good luck.
Dean
