Sometimes I go through bouts when I just don't want to read anything, much in the same way I would have 'writer's block'. I have often wondered whether you could be a writer if you do not read, or enjoy reading. What are you views on this? Also, do any of you have periods when you do not read or want to read?
I too have had the point when you just don't feel like picking up a book. But I have found a cheat or a way of getting around this and still having your cake and eating it. Audio books, Audio books are a great way of still reading without reading, and the thing is if you get a good narrator they can make the story come to life. People like Stephen Fry and Derek Jacobi are just to name a few. I know that it's cheating and you aren't learning like you would from the written word. But It's just like a breath of fresh air for me and the only thing I like to compare it with. When your body aches and you have those daily strains and then you slip into that hot soapy bath and all your problems just float away. That for me is what a good audio book is like, So go on be a devil get your MP3 download and kick back You'll feel the difference I asure you.
All the time! I devour a good book, but there are times when I just don't want to read. It passes with time and you find that the book on your side seems far more attractive than it did the night before.
