When creating a character who makes a rhetorical comment should I put a question mark after it?
Or would it be better to avoid it all together?

Thanks for the tips Victoria, I tend to focus on the story line, to make believable progress, and give the bare minimum for character development.
They need a revamp.
There are lots of other ways to create personality in a short space, Barry. I think asking rhetoricals is quite an unusual trait whereas things like constantly apologising for themselves, flinging hair, trying to win people over with a smile when they know they are in trouble etc are much more common place. And remember, sometimes it's what you don't say too. Even a character is chatty to the point of annoying will often be talking rubbish so he doesn't say how he really feels... at least mine did!
Thanks Jonathan,
I try to use it as a character building tool ( so they have some kind of personality ) but it seems out of place when a person uses one shortly after another.
I'll try and avoid.
